East Side San Antonio

Hi everyone, This pertains to my San Antonio investors. I am a perspective home owner and would like some helpful feedback. I'm 26 and my wife and I are looking to purchase our first home and have been huge fans of downtown the last two years (the pearl, blue star and etc). We see all these houses that look fairly nice and well kept in the East Side. I don't watch the news much due to its general negativity but I'm always hearing about the violence in the Eastside. So my question is, is it really THAT bad in that part of SA? I don't know much about that side of town since we live near sea world but I just wanted to know more possibly which places to avoid if we were looking downtown. Thank you for the help

It depends where exactly you are going to be and where you are going to hang out.

Go to HEB on new braunfels and houston and see what you think. Eat at Wen Wah or Cozzy BBQ or some of the real local stuff and you decide. Some people will love it and some people will think they are in another world. I can tell you the houses are getting more expensive as you move from out of downtown going east.

By the way, I have one for sale if you want to pm me.
