Self Directed IRA-Property Manager required?

I am looking at using a self directed IRA to invest in my real estate business. I already have 10 rentals but would rather use that money to grow the real estate business. The little bit that I have read says that I have to hire a property management company and can't do any of the work myself. Is this correct?
