How to invest 10K with profitable returns

Self-employed and doing well, income around 7-10K monthly after all expenses. However, due to being newly self-employed (new meaning above the table and actually claiming taxes) I'm unable to find traditional lending for about another year. Ideas for the meantime? Looking to invest 10k-15k to start and hoping to find a way to make it profitable for me until I can secure rentals.
