Is it a good buy?

I found a house I am considering buying that is listed for $80,000. It could rent for ~$1,000. It needs about $2,000 in repairs. I could put anywhere up to $40,000 down on it. Do you think this is a wise investment? Can someone take me through the different ways to analyze this?
