I’m in Houston and I’d like to find a mentor but I’m not sure how, help please.

As @Jon Reed said, you have to have something of value to gain mentorship from someone who is already in the game and playing. What skills do you have that can assist another investor? How can you help? What will you do to help? I have two agents launching in Houston shortly and they will be driving for dollars. If you can relay what your value add is, I may be able to connect you in the future.

This is probably one of the top questions I read on the forum. Finding a Mentor = Defining Your Skill Set You need to figure out what you have to offer and then put yourself out there and offer that service/skill for free in exchange for someone's knowledge in the field.

Hey @Kwanita Fields! I'm glad you are starting your journey. It's an exciting thing to move forward and stop the analysis paralysis. I'm am going to echo the other two commenters in saying you have to first understand what you can bring to the table. Do you have more money or more time? etc...After you understand that then you have to figure out what it is that you actually need help and assistance with. Are you looking for more information that can be readily accessible to you online? What do you need a mentor to provide for you right now in this moment? Lastly, are you connecting with other people who are on the same journey as you? Networking with others who are still trying to find their first deal or who may only have 1 or 2 deals done are very valuable assets and friendships. Not only can these people provide encouragement, but they all have gleaned information themselves which can help you along your journey. However, you need to be able to provide value back to them as well. Every relationship, partnership is a two-way street. Sometimes we overthink these things and take for granted what we know or what we can use to bring value. Take time to self access and go from there. Blessings!
