College Student Looking for Loan Advice for a Multi-Family

Jonah Rupe
Posted

Hey, I am a college student that will be transferring to Texas Tech in the spring. I'm looking to purchase a multi-family and try to house hack to live free. I am trying to figure who to go through to receive an FHA Loan. I have a 720+ Credit score, and do have a job and about to start a personal business. Is there any advice on what type of loan and how I should approach this?

Lenders can correct me if I'm wrong but you can have a co-signer on a single family FHA loan but not multifamily. I'd get a 4-5 bedroom house, stuff it with college kids, sleep in the smallest bedroom. If you need a co-signer thats the way to go.
