Obtaining mortgage loan for out of country rental property

Dominic Jacquot
Posted

Hello,

I currently reside in Canada and have encountered considerable difficulty in finding good and affordable real estate deals. Consequently, I am exploring the possibility of investing in a rental property abroad, possibly somewhere in Asia. I have been searching information regarding obtaining a mortgage loan for such an international purchase, but my efforts have yielded limited results.

I appreciate your assistance in shedding light on this matter.

Thank you.

Hello fellow Canuck,

Only local banks will lend and, in most countries, they won't lend to foreigners but there are exceptions and there are alternative financing sources in certain cases. I have replied to many posts on that topic here in the BiggerPockets forums and you might be able to retrieve them through my profile. I know it's not easy though so feel free to DM me directly if needed.
