Business Lines of Credit

When starting a new business, is going through a smaller community bank a good way to get a business line of credit? I have great credit as an individual and I assume that is what they look at first.

Also, is it a better idea to establish a business line of credit before approaching any investment deals, or do banks want to see a specific deal that the credit will be initially used for?
