Borrowing from Home Loan Lenders

I keep getting these letters in the mail saying "you have been pre-approved for X amount..." Has anyone ever borrowed from these companies to get money for investments? Am I a complete sucker for even asking this question? The rates don't seem too bad 3.85 to 4.45%

@Matt Madar  You have been pre-approved.....buttt you still need to call us to complete an application and then provide your financial documentation to back it up...
