Can I get an equity loan?
Can I get an equity loan with bad credit? The house is paid for. I’ve been working my same job for 5 years! I want to use the money to get it up to code and then rent the bottom unit out, plus fix my credit! Can I get a loan?

No one here can answer that question. You have not provided nearly enough information and even then the answer would be "it depends". You need to ask a lender that had all of your information what your odds are. And then ask another one.
