How do I start with a zero down payment?

How do I start my investing journey with a zero down payment? I live in south Florida and I am a student still, about a year left to get my bachelors in construction management. As a typical student, my funds are low and bills are high. Can anybody talk to through how I can start investing and starting my career/future path before graduating? I have very good credit high 700 and pay everything on time.

I hear a lot of people say OPM other peoples money. But how?? Please explain.

Thank you

Hi Sarah,

Not what you want to hear, but I'm going to suggest that you start by focusing on finishing school and getting the highest paying job that your new degree qualifies you to get.

There's nothing wrong with the "get started with no money down by wholesaling!" stuff if you have no marketable skills, or if you're at the peak earning potential of whatever your marketable skills are, but you are JUST about to get a degree in something that presumably has some market value.

Step 1 would be to put that value to work. Don't let it stay fallow; you wouldn't go through all 9 out of 10 steps to buy a farm and NOT take that 10th step of planting stuff. You would take that 10th step, plant the stuff, and then as harvest approaches look at non-farm opportunities... work on that resume, plant those seeds, line yourself up for a harvest. MOST of these folks putting 25% down over and over and over again have decent jobs and incomes. Keep your head in the game, focus on that!
