Are HELOCs only for primary residences???

Hey everyone I was looking to get a HELOC on an investment property i have. My lender said HELOCs are strictly for primary residences and not for investment properties. Is this standard for all lenders or have any of you gotten a HELOC on your rental properties? Thanks

There are banks/credit unions/lenders out there who offer HELOC's on investment properties. Keep calling!
