Refinancing During COVID

Malory Foster
Posted

I have been getting refi quotes, and it seems like this week is a good one to refi. Trying to decide whether to lock in today, or wait until next week. I'm trying to do my research and many articles say that the rates will get even lower. What do you think?

Rates decoupled from the normal co-correlates weeks ago. A lot of journalists and commentators didn't pick up on that and still think the t-note, Fed rate, or whatever else, is relevant. It's not. Not any more. The correlation was always weak at best, now it's fully divorced.

I would take what makes sense, when it makes sense, and get it going asap. Trying to tidy up when the house is on fire is ill advised -- get what you need and can get right now, and get out.
