Commercial LLC vs residential loan

Looking for my first property, probably single family. Trying to figure out if I should go commercial and create an LLC right away or just get a mortgage in my name. Is the LLC necessary right away or can it wait until more properties and equity are built? Any advice would be much appreciated!
