So I found this article from Robert Schiller where he and one of his former students describe the possible markets for and math behind the concept of home equity insurance:
I was wondering what everyone though of this concept. If you read through the article they discuss some pretty practical approaches to construction of an industry like this.
Would you hedge your equity with products like this? How would this industry differ from the owner occupant industry described in the article?
