Mixing Self directed IRA and personal funds

Posted

I'm considering buying a property to flip but I don't have enough capital to buy and rehab. However, if I combine personal funds and my self directed IRA, I would be able to. Is that allowed? I'm thinking my SDIRA would have an 50% stake as a LLCwhile I would personally have a 50% stake. All the rehab will be performed by the contractor and expenses paid 50/50 between my SDIRA and myself. Also, when I sell, I imagine the gains would go 50/50 as well.

I’ve been looking a bunch on the forums and webs, but no clear answer. Anyone have experience doing this?
