SUB2 LEGAL OR ILLEGAL? (Illinois)

I'm wondering if anybody with experience can tell me if its legal or illegal to acquire properties via Subject2 without a Brokers License

Assuming the exit strategy would be to Hold as a rental or lease option because as far as I know you can't assign it without the License.

Thanks in advance to anyone reading/responding
