1099-misc from COVID assistance messed up

So, I got a 1099-misc from Yardi systems on behalf of the housing authority, and they put the rent amount in box 3, "other income", instead of box 1, "rents", where all other 1099s have it. I asked them why that is, and they said they don't know if it is all for rent or other delinquencies, so they put it in box 3, but I can just treat it as rent.

Problem is, Turbotax does not allow me to link an amount in box 3 to a specific property in Schedule E. 2 hours on the phone with TurboTax support didn't really help, and a call to the IRS led me to an agent who had no idea what to do, and directed me to pre-recorder generic information that was not helpful at all.

I am sure I am not the only one in this conundrum, those 1099s probably went to many people. Has anyone found a way to make this work? I have asked the issuer to re-issue a corrected 1099, but I really doubt they would do that. Could any of the accountants/tax experts in this forum chime in and point me in the right direction?
