Looking for a tax accountant in Chicago

Svend W.
Posted

Hi all

I know I'm getting started on this pretty late for this tax season, but can people give suggestions on a Chicago-area tax accountant or CPA?

I'm also curious if people think it's overkill to hire a CPA when you're only dealing with a single small property (in this case, a house hack duplex, purchased 3 years ago).

I am looking to set up a depreciation schedule, if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance.

@Svend W. I don't ever think an accountant is overkill, although it shouldn't be a huge undertaking either with just the one property. When I had only one building I was still using Turbo Tax... but I was not tracking basis correctly and I was messing up a bunch of other little things. A good accountant can probably clean that up rather quickly though.

Have you reached out to @Aaron Zimmerman? He is very active here on the forums as well.
