Looking for an accountant. I tried that before here but only got one name.
I'm NOT looking for a tax preparer or a CPA that only talk to you on tax season.
I'm looking for someone that can do both functions AND be on my team. A trusted adviser and someone I can trust to be on my corner all year and not just during tax season.
I understand your pain - it's a common complaint from many of my new clients.
Don't be afraid to use someone non-local. Today's technology enables us to communicate and collaborate effectively with clients literally all over the globe. So don't be afraid to reach out to a few CPAs here on BP, even if the are hundreds or thousands of miles away from you.
If you are set on using someone local, contact your state board and ask for a referral. They are usually more than happy to help.
You can also contact your local REIA group and ask for referrals there, or join a local Facebook page for real estate investors (that works here in DC, not sure about TX).
