inherited IRA question

Hey everyone,

Tax question regarding an inherited, traditional IRA.

I am a non-spouse beneficiary which was listed in the will of the deceased. Therefore, it does not have to go through the estate and probate period.

My question is, even though it doesn't go through the estate, will the amount of the IRA be added to the total amount of what current assets are in the estate?

@Joe Wood There are some items in your post that seem to require further analysis. Among those is that, generally, IRAs bypass probate due to beneficiary designations made with the IRA custodian, not because of a will. Wills are subject to probate. If your dealing with a taxable estate, you should certainly seek out a tax advisor.
