Partnering on a deal with a self-directed IRA

This is a hypothetical question right now, but if I were to set up a SDIRA could I make the SDIRA trust a partner in any personal real estate deals I pursue without running afoul of IRS rules regarding personal benefit?  It seems that as long as I am not personally using the investment properties and that whatever principal and pro rata share of profits from the deals went into the SDIRA trust that it would be OK.  Any thoughts?

This might be a question you want to take to a CPA.  Free advice from unlicensed people on a forum doesn't hold up in Federal Tax Court.
