Quick question for you guys buying with LLCs

Purchasing a property in another state, Michigan, and I'm being told they need my operating agreement for the purposes of creating the deed and for escrow "to ensure I have the authority to sign". In my home state I have never needed to provide my operating agreement, only my articles of organization showing myself as the manager and I would expect that would be sufficient for a purchase in Michigan as well (LLC is being registered to transact business in Michigan).

Have any of you LLC guys ever had to provide your op agreement for a purchase??

@Mark I. I've had to do it for banks I borrow money from. I'm curious - why the resistance to provide it? What's the risk?
