Im looking for a savvy CPA who can help me with my airbnb business. i have 6 short term rentals in nyc now, and am lookign to start buying in tennessee, indianapolis, kentucky-- not exactly sure where else. but definitely in TN.
Any CPAs in TN that can help me navigate the process of buying my 1st airbnb in TN?
Where in TN are you looking? My wife and I visited Chattanooga last year and fell in love with the city so we hope to start investing there.
@Noah Mencia - That is so exciting! I'd give your our CPA's contact but don't think is a specific AirBnb focus. Your best bet might be to find the local AirBnb Facebook groups where you want to buy and ask there who people are using? I'll ask in my Memphis group and see if I get anything worth passing along to you. Best of luck!
@Brian M. thanks- yeah Chattanooga is great. I'm still looking around but Nashville, Chat, Knox.
@Elizabeth Wilson Thanks! Sure -- could you pass along his info? Maybe he can help!
@Noah Mencia - Just sent his info to you!
@Brian M. How serious are you all looking? I have 2 properties under contract and 4 in my current portfolio in Chatt I'd be willing to sell you. A couple turn key, a couple projects. your choosing.
We will be visiting Chattanooga again this fall/winter to take a much more detailed tour of the city. We were only in the city for a couple hours passing through the first time around. That being said we most likely won’t be ready to park money in TN just yet, we’re trying to build our NY portfolio up to take care of certain things up here (aging family etc). The offer is much appreciated though!
P.S: any insights as to what neighborhoods are good for investing other than right downtown?
Hey, @Noah Mencia ! I see you're from NYC... Whereabouts?
PM me if you'd like to meet up and chat one day!
Neighborhoods everywhere are subjective and depend on the type of properties you are looking for. I see properties under 40k in some areas in Chattanooga frequently and I never buy them but other investors I know love these deals.
I have been buying duplexes in Chattanooga off Highway 58 over towards Harrison and have been happy with those but I know people who hate that area.
If I was coming in from out of town I'd look at Red Bank, Hixson, Lupton City or if you want pricer trendier areas maybe Northshore.
East Ridge and some areas in North Georgia near East Ridge are also very appealing.
Thank you for the input! We havE seen the 40k duplexes all over and figured you get what you pay for. We would most likely stay closer to downtown but time will tell the next time we visit. Red Bank seems to be a commonly positive referred to area on realtor. Will definitely check out the other areas. Thanks!
