Deduction for travel expenses while working out of state
My residence is in Indiana and I work and have a rental property in Chicago. However, I spent most of my 2019 working out of state in Kentucky and Texas. While working there, I traveled home on the weekend for the sole purpose of making some repairs at my rental property. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gone home. At both these times, I have record of maintaining a hotel room at both these places (Kentucky and Texas) while being away for the weekend. Do I get to deduct travel expenses in such a case? Thanks for your help in advance.
