Do I need to depreciate HVAC or can I deduct it?
I own a rental property and qualify for the small landlord deduction (losses up to $25,000). I will need to replace the HVAC system soon, probably in March, and it will cost $7,900 total, including labor. Can I write it off on schedule E, or will I need to depreciate it?
