JV Agreement Illinois

David Levin
Posted

Hi all! Does anyone have a JV agreement used in IL they can share? Or a standard OA for a JV? I am looking at options and also trying to create my own but would like a comparison and/or use a better option. I do have a RE attorney but he would rather I present the agreement on my own.

I appreciate your help!!

@David Levin as someone who has done four JV deals so far in my life, I would advise you to speak to an attorney who is very comfortable from the get go handling this. If you are doing a real estate transaction it does not have to be the same attorney who is doing your closing necessarily. I recently was doing a deal here locally in Cicero and ended up bringing in an attorney recommended by @Mark Ainley to do our JV agreement. It was money well spent. I believe we spent under 1k to draw it up and it is better to get in front of this kind of thing than to have problems down the line when a partnership goes sour (hopefully that never happens).
