Putting properties in LLCs all within a Partnership or Trust?

Hello! I currently own 4 rentals and would like to know the best way to protect our assets. Does anyone have any advice on putting properties into LLCs and putting those under a partnership or trust? Do I need to have an EIN for each LLC or can I create one EIN for our trust or partnership that "holds" all the LLCs? I am ready to buy my next property but need to make sure I am ready an organized to grow my portfolio.
