Im trying to figure out the extent of what i can get with tax exempt status.

What sort of proof do i have to show before i can claim exempt status (not sure if its state specific, im nc)?

I've heard you have to be choosey with what you buy, i wanted to buy some heavy machinery and shipping containers this year (which i thought would be relevant), but not sure about a truck or tools. I'm a builder as well, so a lot of what i buy what be used for both.
