A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

As a Director of Residential Property Management, you play an essential role in helping our business operate by leading your entire department and opening new pathways for business development. You oversee and direct the day-to-day property operations and hold your team accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments. You are able to enhance, develop and implement operational policies and procedures. When conflicts arise, you are able to pinpoint the problem and seek out effective solutions in a practical, healthy manner. You also assist with the hiring and termination processes in order to keep your team strong and working well together.

In addition to forming strong relationships with your own team, you effectively communicate with the COO, other departments, and outside agencies. One of your key goals is to maintain the company's customer service and quality standards by developing and implementing action plans to coach the teams

You will establish working relationships with the owners of properties and ensure we are meeting their needs and expectations. Through networking means, you keep up to date on trends and changing conditions in the marketplace. Your hard work directly contributes to our sales and property management department metrics as well as helps us achieve our profit and loss objectives. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

  • Valid Illinois real estate broker's license is a must
  • 5+ years of experience working within residential property management with third-party owners
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams
  • Knowledge about laws and statutes related to the position
  • Customer-service oriented with strong negotiation skills
  • Leadership skills
