Tay Machado
Posted

Hey everyone,

I have two properties (Airbnb and short term) in South Florida and I live in NYC. I am looking for an accountant to help with my tax. Please let me know if you can suggest someone that have experience with bonus depreciation. Thanks!

 Hi Tay,

When looking for a qualified accountant, it can often be a good idea to focus on area of expertise rather than physical location.  Many CPAs are set up to serve you virtually, so focusing on skill set rather than geographic location may be key.

Bonus depreciation can be a great tool to use if you've got an equipment heavy business or you've completed a cost segregation study on your rental.  The rules have recently changed, so it's not as robust as it used to be, but it's still a very powerful tax savings tool.

Best of luck to you!
