Looking for private rooms with ensuite bathroom for rent in Brooklyn – Any leads?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently helping my cousin who’s moving to NYC next month and is specifically looking for a room for rent in Brooklyn with a private bathroom (ensuite).

Her budget is flexible up to around $1,200/month, and she’d prefer neighborhoods that are safe, with easy subway access to Manhattan. Ideally, we’re trying to avoid big multi-family buildings and find something in smaller setups (maybe private homes or small multi-units).

Does anyone here have experience renting or managing properties like this in Brooklyn? Or maybe recommendations on where to look online or specific landlords / agents you trust?

I’ve tried Zillow, StreetEasy, and Craigslist but it’s a bit overwhelming and often outdated. Hoping someone here has more targeted advice.
