Finding your Niche in Real Estate
I'm speaking next Wednesday at NewEnglandREIA on "Finding your Niche in Real Estate". It will be interactive, which is always more fun and interesting, and I always learn something from the audience. We'll have cameo's from local investors who will discuss their typical day and what they love (and hate) about what they do. I always advocate going with what you like and are suited to.
Topic includes:
• Different types of involvement in real estate, such as wholesaling, rehabbing, buy and hold, etc
• The skills required for each discipline
• The relative risk associated with each type of investing
• Real world examples of what a typical day is like
If you are sitting on the fence, and can’t figure out what kind of real estate is right for you, here is your chance to consider your options and listen to those who are in the trenches. If you are currently working in real estate and want to join the conversation, please come with your experiences, and throw in your two cents. The presentation will be interactive, so bring your questions.
No sales pitch, just information and great networking.

Bill Gulley, thanks for your thoughtful reply. My take is that people who want to invest become overwhelmed trying to understand it all and do and learn everything all at once. With the result that they are paralyzed into immobility. You have to start somewhere, and focus on one area, so you can actually start doing deals instead of becoming a professional student.
While I agree that a more rounded approach is better over time, this discussion is geared to the new investor who doesn't know where to start and is trying to figure out what is right for them. Everyone isn't cut out to be a landlord.
So you get kudos for putting in your two cents, thank you. But no chocolate because you won't be there. sorry. :-(
