Has anyone tried using Tax Hive for tax knowledge and savings? I'm unsure that my current CPA is helping me save enough on taxes for my rental. I never spoke with Tax Hive but they look helpful.

@Amy Houghton I haven't heard of Tax Hive, but Bigger Pockets is a great place to find an accountant specializing in real estate taxation. A good real estate accountant can save you thousands of dollars by leveraging entity selection and formation, tax deductions, cost segregations, bonus depreciation and tax planning. I recommend finding an accountant specializing in real estate taxation, business taxation, financial planning and tax planning. Consider working with your accountant remotely to expand your options. I would also recommend looking for an accountant willing to work with you throughout the year. You want an accountant who can help you strategize and who is responsive when you want to know the consequences of the financial decisions you are making throughout the year. Good luck.

I had an initial consultation with Tax Hive and the results of the call according to the person I spoke with was that they specialize in savings of $10,000+. In my case the deductions my accountant was already claiming for me on my 8 property portfolio were deemed by the Tax Hive representative to be super and the fact that I'm already paying less than $10,000 in taxes meant he did not feel that I needed their services at this time. If you have less than 5 properties I wouldn't waste my time trying to consult with Tax Hive. But if you want to speak with one of their reps about your specific situation I believe the initial consultation should be free.
