Best way to find vacant houses?

Hi everyone, as a new investor, I am facing a real hard situation, I leave in long island NY, and the problem that i am facing is that houses are selling way over price, so I decide to look for vacant houses, but I don't have the knowledge on how t find the owner of the propriety.

Can some one have apiece of advice for me on any idea on how to find a good deal? anything will be really helpful.
