Do you need homeowners insurance and landlord insurance?

Hi,

I'm in California and my insurance company is trying to sell me landlords insurance. I already have homeowners insurance for my rental, but does anyone have or see a need for landlord insurance as well?

Replied

You need homeowner's insurance for your primary and LL insurance for each rental. Your tenants need renter's insurance with you as an additional interest. Homeowner's insurance for your rental is irrelevant and a waste.
