Termite/Fumigation Landloard to Tenant Responsibility

Hello

I just bought a property in Cali  and for sure have to do termite treatment. I am going to divide the rent into 30 days and give them 3 days of rent money to find somewhere to stay... is that okay? I also know that it needs to provide some food money.... how much is that? There's one adult 3 kids.. btw they also have a dog  but its not on the lease so do I have to provide them with money for pet to relocate as well?

Thank you! Dealing with this right at the moment

I would try the easy path first - ask them if they are planning to be on vacation anytime soon. If not, ask if they have a friend or relative they can stay with for the 3 days, without offering them anything. If they do that, then you are off the hook. If they balk, then let them know you will knock 3 days off the rent. I wouldn't offer up anything for food. All of this is subject to your state laws, of course.
