Section 8 Bedroom count Error

Hi all,

I recently acquired a property with a Section 8 tenant in a 3 bedroom apartment. Apparently, Section 8 has this unit mistakenly as a 2 bedroom and I need to make the correction. How do I go upon doing that?

I called Section 8 and they were not cooperative saying the bedroom needs to be 80 SF and that the 2 bd is correct. However the bedroom is over 80 SF but to get to it you need to go through another bedroom, which section 8 is ok with that.

Hey @Eric Vasilopoulos - best of luck on this, I've had a nightmare of a time dealing with section 8 every single time I need something updated from them. Worst time was when the rental amount needed updating and the case manager... they will try and do their best to prevent doing anything that increases rent (even though the rental increase is outlined in their processes).
