Can I have homeowners insurance on a property that I am leasing ?

Posted

I know that it is advised to have dwelling insurance on a lease but, can I keep paying the homeowners insurance even though I am leasing the property?

will the insurance allow me to do this?

Yes however let them know you are/will be renting it out and make it a Landlord policy. In the event of a claim they will deny if they were not aware. Good luck & happy investing!
