What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a landlord in Section 8 ?

Posted

Hi all - Have been digging about Section 8 for the last few days. I would like to understand what are the advantages and disadvantages of being a landlord with tenants from Section 8 ?

FYI, I have properties in King County, Washington State.

Appreciate your help. Thanks

@Saravanar Boopalan

In WA sate you cannot discriminate based on source of income. You have to accept section 8.

I recommend making all decisions based on a written criteria which adheres to fair-housing and all local laws. A good source of information is https://www.rhawa.org/

If you are a DIY landlord, I recommend the membership or a good attorney to answer your questions.
