Needing guidance on townhouse purchase near Charleston

We currently live in Oklahoma and do not know much about the Charleston area. Our son is looking to purchase a three story 2500 square-foot townhouse when he moves to that area in June. He will move from there in two years, he is in the Coast Guard and would like to keep that house as a rental. We are wondering if a three-story townhouse makes a good rental in that area? It is in a new townhouse off Wescott Blvd.
