Renting Furnished to Medical Pros – Advice?

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are about to rent out our very first home. We recently bought a larger house to accommodate our growing family, but in a few years—once the kids have moved out—we may sell the new place and move back into our original home.

We’re considering renting it fully furnished to traveling nurses, doctors, or other short-term medical professionals. Here’s why:

  • We see consistent demand in our area for medical housing.
  • Shorter leases mean we can get inside more often for repairs and inspections.
  • During vacancies, we could use the property for visiting family or friends.

We’d love your advice:

  • What services or platforms do you recommend for finding high-quality traveling medical professionals as tenants?
  • Any tips for making a furnished rental more attractive to this niche group?
  • Pitfalls or lessons learned if you’ve done this yourself?

Thanks in advance! We’re excited (and a little nervous) about taking the leap.

I love the idea of Medium Term Rentals to Nurses and Doctors.
Thank you! Do you have any recommendations on what platform to list it on? My wife has heard some people talk about Furnished Finder.
Eventually it will be busy just by word of mouth, but you might start with find the person in human resources who works with traveling nurses. The nurses are give an housing stipend and HR can help you withe what to expect. One important tip, everyone wants their own bathroom.
