M2M lease non renewal question

Account Closed
Posted

Hi all!

if you have a month to month lease and the tenant notifies you via text that they are not renewing and you confirm via text, is there anything else you need to do? Should you send a certified letter of acknowledgement?

I would think acknowledging it via text would be enough and sending a certified letter would counterproductive, but if there's any disputes later on (ie tenant doesn't move out) would the texts be enough if it were to go to court?

Unlikely there will be a dispute but you never know!

Thanks
