Property in Housing and Dangerous Buildings

I recently became in contract with a 4-plex property and during my due diligence I figured out that the building has been with Housing and Dangerous Buildings department of Sacramento since 2012. So no city inspector has gone to inspect the building for rental code since 2012. This concerns me because makes me wonder if the property is "rental ready." All 4 units are currently occupied by tenants.

Has anyone had experience with this? How big of a red flag is this? Should I ask seller to address this issue before closing of escrow?

it is most likely something pretty minor since it's occupied.  Also you can use the City Sac website to see what code case is all about.

If you like the deal get it under contract and flush it out in your inspection period.

Good luck
