People on disability and have a payee

I currently have a Tenant that his mother is his payee he was supposed to pay rent this month instead he decided to up and break the lease and move out now my question is because his mother is his payee is it legal for me to contact his mother in the state of Illinois regarding what we are going to do about the rent due to him breaking the lease
