Can I write off a half price rental promo?

Ok creative accounting gurus. If I offer a first months rent discount of half price as an incentive, is there  a way I can document this in order to show that discounted rent as a loss? Or deduct it as a promo?

It would be "deducted" in that your income will go down relative to what it would be had you not offered half off.
