TX investors: Are property taxes a huge problem for investors?

Hey everyone, I live in CO but have roots in the Texas panhandle area and am considering some property investments in the Amarillo, TX area. But I've heard that high rates on property taxes in the great state of TX make rentals and fix and flips difficult. I'd love to hear from TX investors to see what your experience is dealing with property taxes.

I'm in Houston and the taxes here don't affect flips or rentals. Not really sure what's going on in the panhandle, but as long as the acquisition numbers are right I don't think you'll have any issues.
