BP, I am looking into purchasing my first rental property and I'd like to know how much the school system is a factor in the decision. I am in Dallas so the schools vary greatly depending on the district/town the prospective rental will be. Does anyone consider this to be a factor? -Jon-Erik

Not really.  The schools have been bad for a very long time. IF you are in a class b or c neighborhood, people know the schools.  IF you have a class A property you will be renting to singles, young professionals etc

You will probably have more tenant turnover, but there are a LOT of young millennials looking for urban living in places like Lower GReenville, or Uptown or Knox Henderson etc.

I think your biggest considerations are property taxes, rental regulations and do the numbers work.  There is a very robust market of individuals looking to rent in Dallas.

Best of luck to you!!!
