I have an international applicant. They don't have a social security, but they have a TAX ID, How do I screen for this?

We have seen many landlords who deal with international tenants without any US credit history by asking for a full 100% of all rent to be paid upfront plus security deposit.

any other recommendations and documentation/verification/references to process this international tenant? Do I get an escrow account for advanced rent? or do I just ask for a big check?

@Matt Vogt I'm 99% confident already. I just need to know how to screen them for the landlord. The applicants are retired, and own a few homes so no sponsor or school..... they are literally just here to see their new grandkids for a few months..... any other recommendations?

Do they have employment here in the states, are they students, what is their situation? I'd start by asking simple questions like that and use a gut check. Also, if you're not totally comfortable, take a larger security deposit, 1st and last months rent, and do a month-to-month lease for the first few months or so to see how they are.
