RUBS Help, Factoring the Number of occupants into Ratio

Hello everyone, Im sure this question has been answered however I cannot find it even after searching.

Im trying to figure out how to calculate RUBS in a small 2 Family home.

My issue is I have found spreadsheets however, they are all password protected. I even tried to buy one which did not work out as planned.

I just want to properly calculate the Ratio and also factor in the # of occupants to get the most accurate number as possible.

Can anyone lead me in the right  direction?

Thanks in advance

I can email you a spreadsheet I use if you send me a PM here..

Otherwise it works basically like this:

- Calculate, for both units: the number of tenants * number of days tenants lived there. this gives you "tenant days in this unit"

- Add up the total number of "tenant days" for both units

- Divide the bill up by each unit's tenant days by the total tenant days. It sounds a little weird to do it this way, but when you have a water bill that spans multiple months, and tenants move out/move in over that period, it helps allocate the bill somewhat fairly

Unit 1:

2 tenants (A&B) lived there 15 days then moved out. Was vacant for 5 days, then 1 tenant (tenant C) lived there for 10 days.

Tenants A&B = 15*2 = 30 tenant days

Tenant C: 1*10 = 10 tenant days

Unit 2:

1 tenant (tenant D), lived there 30 days  1x30 = 30 tenant days

Building Total:

Total tenant days: 30+10+30 = 70 tenant days

Water bill: $100

Amounts owed:

Tenant A&B owes: $100* (30/70)  = 42.85

Tenant C owes: $100*(10/70) = 14.29

Tenant D owes: $100*(30/70) = 42.85

And to double check: 42.85+14.29+42.85 = 99.99.. I guess allocate the extra 0.01 to someone.
